Guest Gollywobbler Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 hi, could anyone answer a question regarding applications, is it worth using agencies or would you recommend submitting your own application and having a few weeks in oz to try getting sponsers for work Hello David Welcome to Poms in Oz. I'm not sure what you are getting at? If you qualify for General Skilled Migration then you don't need an employer to sponsor you. If you need or are offered employer-sponsorship and choose Employer Sponsored migration instead, you can't apply for the visa until the employer has gone through two stages of getting the whole plan approved by DIAC. I would suggest that you have a go with the Visa Wizard and see whether you get any help from it. (It is brand new and I haven't really seen any feedback about it yet.) Australian Visa wizard - Visas & Immigration Also, study the DIAC website using your own analytical abilities as well, I would suggest: Visas & Immigration Information Forms and Booklets - Applications & Forms - Visas & Immigration Best wishes Gill
Guest Pinklollypop Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Hi I am moving out to Sydney in about 6 weeks to work as a nurse and have used an agency from the start who have been fantastic at guiding me through everything and providing support, so in my experience it has been a good thing. Maybe it depends on what work you will be doing out there but it has certainly made the whole process easier. Helen x
Guest spadgersdad Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Would totally agree, we used an agency Concept Australia and they guided us all the way, saves all the worry of doing it alone.
calNgary Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I think it normally boils down to personal prefernce anf financies,as Gill said early with some visa's you dont need a sponser so may feel confident enough to submit a visa application alone. I did use an agent to help with our visa as my mind was blown!lol, nothing made sense and i read so much it all blurred into one ,having someone to guide me through was priceless and the service was well worth their fee. Good luck with whatever you decide Cal x
