Guest Gollywobbler Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Hello Marvin In Australia, Publican is lumped in with Hotel or Motel Manager, which is here: Hotel or Motel Manager 3323-11 - Australian Skills Recognition Information The Code Number refers to the ASCO Code, which is here: http://www.ausstats.abs.gov.au/ausstats/free.nsf/Lookup/A86A0162E6F672DFCA256ADB001D10D4/$File/asco.pdf Please see Page 260 of the Code, using the page numbering at the foot of each page of the Code itself, not what Adobe thinks the page number is. A far more realistic and accurate description of the job you actually do is Club Manager (Licenced Premises) - 3324-11 on Page 261 of the ASCO Code, I suspect? That said, Stiffs in Suits run this show and those being what they are you will not be surprised to hear that they are convinced that Australia is stuffed with potentially successful Club Managers (Licenced Premises) and that therefore Australia has no need whatsoever to find migrants who can fit this particular bill. However, if you can prove that you have the necessary diploma level qualification in Hotel or Motel Management plus on-the-job work experience of organising food, bedrooms, bathrooms etc as well as the bar trade, skilled independent migration would be possible for you. Do you have formal qualifications in this field at all, please? If not, could you get some diploma-level qualifications fairly easily and quickly? If not, employer-sponsored migration would not necessarily be impossible but you would need quite a large hotel or chain to be willing to sponsor you, I would guess. Have a look at the DIAC website, I would suggest: Visas & Immigration Information Booklets - Applications & Forms - Visas & Immigration Australian Visa wizard - Visas & Immigration Best wishes Gill
Guest TheArmChairDetective Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 See I told you. Gill is someone who SHOULD be on commission ! ! ! TIM ! ! !
