PLC SCADA Engineer

Hi,

does anyone know what the equivalent job title a PLC (programmable logic controller) and SCADA (supervisory control and data aquisition) engineer would be under the list of needed people? Its basically Industrial programming.

We produce control systems for various industries such as Water, Chemical, Power Generation, Nuclear Waste Management, etc.

I've been doing this kind of work for 9 years for 2 different companies, they titled it as Systems Engineer and simply Engineer. Its the Automation Control subcategory of Process Control in this country.

I was also an Electronics Technician for 6 years previous.

I hold a degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and to lesser levels HNC and ONC in the same subject.

Thanks.

Neil

Neil,

I do the same job and in the process of sending my application

I have been classified as Electrical Engineer by the skills recognition authority for this job - Engineers Australia. This took about 8 weeks.

You will need to get your qualifications approved by Engineers Australia.

Visit their website for all the info.

Thanks Gary,

I too am a PLC prgrammer and have a bit of experience in SCADA as well. Also worked in a factory doing electrical maintenance so this info helps me out too.

This is a great forum!
