KathK
Would be interested to hear from any more of you out there? Any info anyone may have on the best areas to go to for this particular trade, ie where are they in shortest demand etc would be much appreciated. Or any certifications they may need in Oz? We passed TRA on 2nd attempt by doing Statutory Declarations, & blagging about his 'Formal training' - well he's been doing it for 15 years, there was no apprenticeship in the small company he works for, he is now Production Manager (though still hands on), & is responsible for the training of staff himself - it was ridiculous the lengths we had to go to - but it worked out in end. CharmedP3
Hi Kath My OH is a sheet metal worker / welder...we are just about to submit his TRA this week hopefully if we can get our backsides into gear and get stuff certified...too busy working!! lol We are heading to newcastle, NSW as it has a strong steelworks and mining industry and we've been told by family over near Sydney as this would be an ideal location for him to get work
KathK
We were looking at East coast - anywhere from Sydney to Brisbane, so Newcastle would be OK. Does your family out there have any more info on jobs for sheet metal workers? regards Kath
