Advice on shipping a car to the UK

Hi all, just wondered if anyone shipped their car to the UK? We have a fairly new Nissan X-Trail and I don’t think we will get its value trying to sell it before we leave, but I’m trying to find out if we will be easily able to get car insurance in the UK? I know some more obscure makes and models would perhaps not get insured, but I’m presuming our one would be ok, but don’t want to make a costly mistake! Thanks for any advice, Jill

When I looked into it, there was quite a bit of cost involved to make it insurable in the UK. It started with the KMs to MPH conversion. There was also a test for emissions, but at the end of the day, it wasn't worth it, especially when you had how cheap cars in the UK are into the equation. This was for a ford ranger.
