Arese Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Hi everyone, I'm applying for citizenship by conferral and highlighted below in the screenshot is where I need clarity on. - I entered Australia in Jan 2016 so the answer to the first question is YES - When you select yes, they ask the applicant for the details of their previous application. Where it's not clear to me is whether I should provide the details of my 1st application with which I have entered Australia (Jan 2016) Or the details of my last application which would be the partner visa 820/801 which was granted in October 2023. In short, do I have to provide the details of my first visa application that granted me entry into Australia or the very last visa application preceding my citizenship application? It isn't very clear because in the context of the parent question (asking about my entry into the country after 1990) I'd be inclined to enter the details of my 1st visa application. But the wording of the second question seems to refer to my previous application, as in the one directly preceding my current citizenship application. Thank you in advance for any insights you may have. Quote
Jon the Hat Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Good question, following with interest. I have assumed it is the latest one and they are just after a TRN so they can cross check from Immi account to the grant system correctly, but I will also await more informed comment. I have not applied yet as waiting on a UK police check. 1 Quote

I have not applied yet as waiting on a UK police check. After posting I've thought about it a bit more and like you, I'm leaning toward providing details of the latest visa application/grant. As you said, it must be for them to cross-reference my details from immi account. Furthermore, the fact that you can reply "No" to the 2nd question might indicate that it's optional to answer. My current reasoning would be to provide my latest visa application (PR), which will also directly establish my eligibility to apply for citizenship. From there, they should be able to trace all my visas/applications back in any way. Though, it would be good to hear from someone more informed. Thanks 1 Quote
