Does anyone have any information on whether the PGCE Top Up Course (I'm with University of Northampton) is valid for teaching registration in NSW please?

You've asked this before but I don't think we have any NSW teachers here.   Your best bet is just to submit your application and see what happens.

I was registered to teach in NSW until about 5 years ago, but I've let it lapse as I don't anticipate that I'll return to NSW to work. It's a two-step process. You need to be accredited to teach by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), and then approved to teach by the NSW Department of Education.

The usual requirement for accreditation is that you have completed at least four years of tertiary study, including a qualification in either primary or secondary teaching. To find out if your qualifications meet the accreditation standards in NSW you could contact NESA via email: contactus@nswteachers.nsw.edu.au

Qualified teachers seeking approval to teach are then required to:

  • provide evidence of successful teaching experience.
  • complete online teacher suitability assessments, measuring cognitive and emotional intelligence.
  • undertake an online interview to demonstrate your knowledge, critical experiences, skills and capabilities for teaching in NSW public schools.

Here are some links that might prove useful.
