Rachael
I’m an exercise physiologist in the US looking to move and work in Australia. It’s currently listed under the temporary skilled shortage list. Has anyone used one of these visas before? What was the process like to find a job before moving there or to find a sponsorship?
Marisawright
You can't apply for that visa on your own First, you must first find an employer willing to sponsor you. That can be difficult, because employers don't like the uncertainty: it's not just that the visa process can be slow, it's the fact that they don't know how long you'll take to organise yourself to make such a big move. They may end up having to wait months for you to arrive. If you are young enough to get a Working Holiday Visa (i.e. 30 or under), I'd recommend doing that. Once you are on the ground in Australia with work rights, you'll find it much easier to find a sponsor.
