boganbear 212 Posted August 5, 2008 Hi folks, This is my first posting. I've applied for an interdependency visa as my partner is an Aussie already. All the paperwork has been sent off but the x ray for the medical showed up what I hope is a minor problem in that there is some scaring on my lung from a minor chest infection. The radiologist and panel doctor say not to worry. The case officer has said that the medical forms etc have been sent to Oz to be assessed there and is their standard procedure if the x rays are not perfect. Has this happened to anyone else? how long did they take to come back ?Was everything OK in the end? Reading between the lines, everything else is OK with the visa so it is just a case of getting the all clear on the medical Cheers Mark
Guest Gollywobbler Posted August 5, 2008 Hello Mark Welcome to Poms in Oz. Fear not, buddy! All that has happened is that your meds have been sent to Sydney for the Medical Officer of the Commonwealth to take a look at your chest x-rays. It is simply that the legislation requires DIAC to do this if the Panel Doctor discovers anything unusual. The MOC will confirm that there is nothing to worry about with your meds, the database will be marked up accordingly and then your CO will be able to grant your visa.
