Terry Thomas and Leslie Phillips were real characters.  Always enjoyed their films.

I remember reading that Terry Thomas was very ill towards the end of his life and had to sell his house to cover bills.  He had to move into a rented 3 room unfurnished flat until friends got together to put on a concert for him and the proceeds went to pay for a place for him at a nursing home where he died.

There was a brilliant series on the BBC about the old school comedians, dramas. Michael Sheen played Kenneth Williams, David Walliams played Frankie Howerd, there was a Steptoe one as well. The historical accuracy was dubious but the acting was brilliant, particularly Sheen as Kenneth Williams who was exceptional.

he been dead years, there is terrible video on youtube with parkinsons, like zombie.  He forgotten by everyone until near end.
