But check if there is a restriction on hours, and be aware that many government departments (including all Federal Govt) may not be able to employ temporary residents. I arrived in Australia in early 2019 on a temporary / provisional visa. I secured a permanent job in IT immediately. I started a new job a few weeks ago, again a permanent position, that also required a high level of security clearance and I am soon to be on a bridging visa.
