partnership
Anyone currently living in queensland on either 600 or temporary parent visa who could advise on what they pay for health cover? Would be 60 and 62 no major health issues but on thyroid and cholesteral tablets? Just researching what money we would need. From Ireland so think can only get reciprocal cover for 12 months. Marisawright
On a 600 visa, you're not going to be living here for more than 12 months at a time, so you would just get your normal travel insurance and take advantage of the reciprocal cover. https://www.finder.com.au/870-visa-health-insurance The good news is that I found a different page on the Services Australia website which doesn't mention the 12 month limit (let's hope this is the correct one). https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/reciprocal-health-care-agreements-visiting-from-republic-ireland?context=22481#a4 Notice, though, the things you're not covered for, like specialist visits. Marisawright
You can find out how much your prescriptions will cost by looking at the price list here: https://www.pbs.gov.au/browse/medicine-listing You'll see a lot of different prices mentioned on the site but you pay the "General Patient Charge". The other prices are for pensioners and people on benefits. There's also a "safety net" price which won't apply to you.
