redwriter 0 Posted June 9 Hi, We're planning on returning to UK after four years in Aus. and need advice re: selling house timelines/tax implications here and in UK, SMSF and moving funds back. Can anyone suggest an advisor in Perth, WA or nearby. I have contacted BDH Sterling twice but have had no response. Is there an alternative? Thanks,
Marisawright 9,392 Posted June 9 Yes, speak to @Alan Collett (for tax) or @Andrew from Vista Financial for financial advice. If the house is your principal residence then there shouldn't be any tax implications to selling it, as it's exempt from capital gains. I hope you don't already have a SMSF because as I understand it, you can't have executors who reside overseas. You may have to dissolve it but you will probably have to put the funds into a retail or not-for-profit super fund, unless you have already reached preservation age.
