Hussain 0 Posted December 8, 2021 Hi Can anyone help me regarding my question? My wife failed the Australian citizenship test for the third time, because of her English. Should we apply for a new application? or we have to apply for the AAT. Or have any other options. Thank you in advance
Marisawright 9,311 Posted December 8, 2021 She needs to improve her English. If you look, you will find English classes for migrants that will help her. 1 Scot by birth, emigrated 1985 | Aussie husband applied UK spouse visa Jan 2015, granted March 2015, moved to UK May 2015 | Returned to Oz June 2016 "The stranger who comes home does not make himself at home but makes home itself strange." -- Rainer Maria Rilke
Quoll 5,854 Posted December 8, 2021 I agree, get her to work really hard on her English both conversational - so joining social groups perhaps those with some interest that she has, going to migrant English classes etc even watching tv has been cited as a good way to learn the language. Practice, practice practice.
rammygirl 1,971 Posted December 8, 2021 Watching tv in her native language with English subtitles is also good practice for reading. When I took my test someone was helping a lady who didn’t speak much English I did wonder if that was allowed officially. So many wineries ......so little time
