ToowoombaBlue
Hi there im in the process of organising a house move within Queensland from Toowoomba to Bargara and have sought a quote from some local removal companies. So far only one has come forward with a quote, this came out at $4100. Now I know it’s a five hour drive so they would have to either have a very long day or do it over two days, but is $4100 realistic? What experiences have others had and what is a reasonable price? Any recommendations from people who have done similar would be appreciated.
rammygirl
Might depend what that price includes, for example packing boxes and materials, dismantling and rebuild if furniture full packing service unpack and remove boxes etc insurance extra for difficult access or high floors It does seem a lot but you have to compare like for like. Being cheap, I have always hired a van, and moved EVERYTHING myself. You could also pay some local high school or college boys (cash in hand) to help pack up the van Last move cost me $150 (was getting quotes for $3000) Given I have moved about 28 times in 52 years, you can see why I do it myself
