VicentJ
Hi all, I was wondering how long does it take to receive your Medicare card after applying for it. Anybody have any insights? I applied online a month ago after obtaining PR, and haven't received any response yet. Just wondering whether it will be a matter of days or a matter of months... Thanks! Pretty quickly - we completed ours at a Centrelink so didn't need to mail it through. It took about 2 weeks max plus Auspost took about another 2 weeks to send it out. VicentJ
Thanks! Was this before the pandemic? It's already been five weeks wait for me... not so long in the grand scheme of things, but maybe I should follow up on my application.
palaceboy1
We arrived in November PR and picked up the forms from Centrelink who do not now process since COVID . Filled them out and posted , thought it was taking a long time and phoned them , they confirmed receipt and the cards arrived the following week . It around four weeks. Lavers
Took about 5 or 6 weeks for us, I rang them after 4 weeks and they gave me a reference number which I could hand over to the doctors so that I could book my kids in for there missing jabs.
