Booking flights with an infant (before birth)

Does anyone know which airlines allow booking of flights including a lap infant, before the baby is actually born? Or is your experience that you have to book flights for yourselves and the baby only after baby is born?

I'm keen to book our flights now due to the current situation. But baby won't be born for a few months. Wondering how best to approach this. Have contacted Singapore Airlines to ask them but have yet to hear back what their policy is.

Please share any experience you have with this! And which airline you booked/flew with.

You can try calling before the birth to reserve the infant allocation but you won't be able to book without a DOB.  As soon as the baby is born you can go ahead with booking.  However, depending on the airline they may not allow you to ticket until you have a valid ID number for the baby.
