Snowbound 10 Posted January 19, 2021 Hi all. Does anyone know if you pay increased stamp duty on a property in NSW if you also own property in the UK?? (Have left message for a conveyancer to call me but only have until midday to offer on property). Cheers.

You will pay a hefty surcharge if you are on a temporary visa (e.g. 482 or 491), and you'll also need permission to buy from the FIRB. If you have never owned property in either country, you may be eligible for first home buyers' benefits. rtritudr 285 Posted January 21, 2021 When are you planning on purchasing in NSW? NSW is considering offering the option of paying ongoing property tax instead of a one-off stamp duty.
