janjanju
Hi all, I was looking at the process to apply for citizenship, but I find the date given by the residence calculator is quite confusing. I was not in Australia 4 years immediately before the application date given, nor did I hold a permanent visa back then, so I reckon my eligible date given by the calculator must be wrong? It’s just an estimate and the calculator can get confused. You haven’t given any information on your dates so I can’t comment on the specifics. I arrived in June 2016 on a temporary visa, then left in September 2016 for quite a while. I came back to Australia and continued to live here since September 2017, and for my citizenship application, I started counting from June 2016, was this correct? The calculator advised me to apply in May 2021, however I wasn't in Australia in May 2017 nor did I hold a permanent visa, will that be an issue?
