Rawkus 1 Posted November 22, 2020 Can anyone recommend the best service to use for posting Xmas pressies to UK? Australia post is expensive. Maybe that's just the way it is or are there cheaper ways / companies?
rammygirl 1,609 Posted November 22, 2020 I just order from on line stores in uk, they can gift wrap and deliver free or much cheaper. I ordered something for my great nephew and it was delivered last week in three days. 1 So many wineries ......so little time
Marisawright 6,570 Posted November 22, 2020 The best way is to buy the presents from UK stores, instead of buying them in Australia. Amazon.co.uk, Lush.co.uk, John Lewis, M&S - if your favourite British store has a website, it will probably take your order from Australia and let you pay with an Australian card. I'm not aware of any cheaper alternatives to post from here. 1 Scot by birth, emigrated 1985 | Aussie husband applied UK spouse visa Jan 2015, granted March 2015, moved to UK May 2015 | Returned to Oz June 2016 "The stranger who comes home does not make himself at home but makes home itself strange." -- Rainer Maria Rilke
Freemantle 68 Posted November 22, 2020 If there is something specific "Australian" you would like to send internationally I have always used Sendle -https://support.sendle.com/hc/en-au/articles/115001989672-International-prices I have found them to be quick and reliable at a fraction of the cost of Australian Post.
starlight7 4,165 Posted December 10, 2020 Also- Australia Post is not that reliable these days so I would certainly look elsewhere. Our postman only comes once a week and if we are lucky, twice. Never if it is raining. I think in 1840 when they started the mail they got a better service than we do today in Australia. The parcel post is marginally better. The horses were quicker.
