Saqlain
Good day all, I need advise about applying for my 2nd RRV. First one was applied after 5 years on 190 PR visa where i spent one year in Melbourne in past 5 year. My situation is as following - i was granted RRV for one year till Oct 3,2020. Letter attached. - currently all the family is overseas because we are unable to come back due to COVID-19 issue as my child is down syndrome and doctor has advised not to travel with child because she doesn't have immunity against virus. - we still leased home in Melbourne and planned to come back next year as the Covid-19 issue will be resolved. - our full home furniture and bank accounts all are in Aus. - my wife have 5 year RRV till Sept 2024. - my child is Australian citizen - Aus is our home and we have full intent to stay there. Just Covid-19 damaged all the plan. My questions are - can i apply RRV After March 2021 while current RRV is valid till Oct 3,2020? - will i be granted one yr RRV after i apply in March 2021 based on above situation? - how much RRV department is taking on issuing RRV these days ? Appreciate all of ur support

I would apply before your current visa expires. The longest period you will get is one year. Processing takes "up to 12 weeks".
Saqlain
Paul, do u think my scenario and Covid issue will also help me to get RRV for one year even if i will apply in March 2021. i am afraid, if i will apply now and they will give me 3 months RRV. In these 3 months, i dont think that covid issue will be resolved and Life will be back to normal and save to travel with my special child, who doesnt have any immunity against covid. please suggest what are chances, in %age, for getting one year RRV if i will apply in March 2021. Thanks
paulhand
I don’t think COVID has anything to do with it and I have no idea what the landscape will look like in March (nobody does).
