Gold Coast to Brisbane

Recommended Posts

Hi,

we're looking to move from the Gold Coast (we've been here 8 years), up to the Brisbane area. We would like between 3-5 acres for our horses and we have a girl who'll be attending UQ and a girl moving into year 10. Any recommendations on areas to look at and schools - private or public? Any areas to avoid? Being near the airport would be ok as being near the sea, but neither are essential. A community feel (we came from a small village in the UK) would also be great - but not essential thanks

Your going to be limited on areas close to the city wanting that size acreage. The areas i can think of that spring to mind would be around Gumdale and Chandler but prices wont be cheap. The other option is to go Samford Valley way, again not cheap but a lovely quaint area. Alternatively for more affordable acreage and a smaller community feel look around Greenbank, Logan Village, Jimboomba  areas but you'd be looking at a 50 min drive into the city.

If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place...

If you get a chance, take it, If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy they just said it would be worth it...

Which campus at UQ? St Lucia or Gatton? If Gatton you could look out towards the Lockyer Valley.  You could get around 50 acres between $400 - $600.  Most areas are village feels with a local pub and shop.  I know the private schools put on a school bus.

It may be too far from Brisbane it’s anything from 40 min to 1 hours drive

A couple of properties with acreage for example

$600k

If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present.

We looked in the Mt Crosby area but I don’t know enough about the area for living there. I just looked and you have a horse property for $650. I would check flood maps wherever you move even the Lockyer Valley
