Nowadays it depends on the occupation - if in the hospitality sector, it seems that they are taking longer to be processed given the current crisis.

However, generally a 186 nomination can take up to 6-8 months, 187 nomination even longer.

They can process it even if you are offshore.

However, you can get stuck in India if you do not get your PR approved and you cannot enter Australia because on a temporary visa.

@Laura Zorzi what do you suggest in my case, any idea when the restaurant managers will start getting answers?

Restaurant Manager

Country: High Risk

First Nomination and Visa lodged on 16th April 2019 through TRT and nomination refused on 29th August reason was company can't afford for next two years.

Nomination lodged again on 16th October (Nomination Only, Not Visa)

Further documents requested on 18th February 2020. (About genuine need of this post)

Documents updated on 26th February.

No update after 26th February.

Nominations in the hospitality industry are getting highly scrutinized, above all in relation to the genuineness of the position (given that many Australians have lost their job) and the financial capacity of the business to support the nominated salary (given the loss incurred by many venues).

From your information, I can see that further information have been already requested in February (before the covid outbreak). If the business has updated documents showing that it can still financially support your position and that it still genuinely needs you, I would upload them.

Hopefully this will speed up the decision.
