ChrisL90
Hi, I'm looking for any pearls of wisdom! My boyfriend (Australian) and I have been long distance now for approximately 16 months. We have never been together for longer than 1 month. I would now like to move to Australia to be with him. For various reasons (mainly work) we would like to move straight on to a partner visa. On the Australian government website, I read that 12 months of cohabitation isn't requirement if you are married, or if the relationship is registered. I have just spoken to a friend who said that although the website states that it is possible, that an application should never be lodged if you haven't cohabited for 12 months, regardless of if you're married or your relationship is registered. Does anyone else know if this is true? Thank you very much - Christina
