I've been cooking for over 30 years but still. never made a pie!

Are these pie makers any good? Aldi have one at a seemingly good price this weekend, Any thoughts on these please?

I've no problem with the fillings maybe it's the pastry that I'm not to sure about though I know you can get that ready made gear........

We have one, they're great. You just lay the pastry in the casing, put your filling in and cover with more pastry. Bit of a trim & a pinch and, hey presto, 12 mins a great pie.

I have absolutely anything in a pie. The danger is, it's too easy, I am on about 40 pies a week.

Where can you get the pastry, there is no flour in any shops.

Do you have Weightwatchers in your town, that's going to be the next money maker

Plenty of flour of every description in our Coles and Woolworths.  No empty shelves now.

Only thing I couldn't get was an Aldi fruitcake so I did a boiled fruitcake myself which was so easy and tasted better.  Very unhealthy though, lots of butter and sugar.

Flour?

No need, the frozen pastry is perfect. I've tried shortcrust and puff pastry, I think shortcrust works best in the pie makers. Remember to egg wash.

Do those piemakers work with the pastry sheets you can buy?

The best pies in the world!!

Arments supply pies to pie mash shops all over london but having one fresh from the shop in the video is the best!

Chilli vinegar  and liquor (not gravey)

Frozen pastry is so easy and really good. Not sure about those pie makers, never tried one.  I haven’t made a pie for ages but I do love a pie. I would use shortcrust pastry myself.  If you fancy a chicken pie, try adding some white sauce with some grated cheese mixed in it, if you like that sort of thing. Fruit pies are lovely too. Pies freeze well so you may as well do a few, good luck.

Oh I do love fruitcake but they are so fattening and unhealthy like you say.  You have to have a treat sometimes though. I love pastry too!

Good for leftover mince too

We used to have mince beef pies when we were kids. My mum used to put a tin of big, processed peas in too, they were lovely.

we got the kmart one last week on flybuys points - but they are about $29

had moroccan lamb pies and apple and black berry pies.

quite possibly the best food we have had in ages.

Used home made pastry for the apple and the frozen sheets for the lamb.

simply brilliant
