Wayne 83
Hello I've been out of Australia for nearly 7 years. I'm living back in the UK. The travel section of my visa has expired. I currently don't have any intention of living back in Australia however I may like to come back with my children for a holiday. If I understand my visa correctly I will not be able to renew the travel condition of my visa as I have been out of the country for to long but I also can't apply for a holiday visa because I still have my skilled 175 visa active. My question is if someone could please help and tell me if this is correct. Or advise me on the correct way to go to sort this out please Thank you Wayne
paulhand
Your skilled visa is not still "active", it has expired. You can (once Australia is open again) apply for a visitor visa if you want go on holiday there.

Far better to just apply for a visitor visa.

I ask because it's true that you can ask for a Resident Return Visa, but if you don't have any ties to the country any more, then it's very likely to be refused. There is nothing to stop you applying for a tourist visa. The Dept of Immigration phone operators are notorious for getting things wrong.
