I have been following this forum for a while and I can't still understand what it is with some people here?

what kind of expectations do you have when the Doha is pretty clear saying that processing time is between 23and29 months? everything else that comes before that consider yourself LUCKY.

No to mention that people here keep calling obsessively and encouraging other to call Doha and council when in the approval letter they discourage you on doing so.

Seriously.

I think DOHA are not updating the time at the moment. Actually the processing time is less than 1 year in most states?

In addition, maybe you are not in hurry reason why u are here? 😄 Have a good day.

Hi @Lynkim i did test beginning of October and was approved same day, was not even invited for Australia day and my council told me that immigration hasn't sent my name to council yet, they said hopefully I can do ceremony in March. Fingers crossed for you.

Thank you for letting me know.

Good luck 👍

Thanks but no thanks for your concern... the stress coming out of anxiety varies between individuals... yes checking mail boxes and post boxes doesn't guarantee ceremony or citizenship we still do it as an human instinct. I called home affairs and council only to ask for information not to expedite my ceremony and I asked basic question and not about my particular case and before I called them I know the answer as well but tried what you referenced "Luck" and see if they can guide me accordingly. LeJJ4 please ignore my comments made by people like me to prevent any future pain of reading all this which you just read. Thank you

Hi all,

I applied submitted my citizenship documents back in Feb 2020 and have had no updates or invitation for a test. In the next few weeks, I am moving interstate from VIC to NSW and will update my address contact details on my IMMI account.

Is there anything else I need to do as far as my application is concerned?

Well, simply put, people are impatient, and (a BIG and), I don't think DOHA is working effectively (pandemic is just a good detracting reason). They cost Australian a lot of tax money every year, yet their performance is questionable (during 2019 it seemed that they stopped processing Citizenship all together for 8 months just because of a speculation of new Citizenship requirement). Do a quick Google search about Department of Home Affairs efficiency, you'll get plenty of reports officially about the messy management, toxic/harassing/bullying culture, low morale work environment in DOHA, thanks to the big top guys... (you know who). But as long as they still have protection from the Fed Government, and as long as Dutton is still there; nothing will be changed I guess.

Can I ask a (probably silly) question:  Do you get an email to invite you to a test or do you have to constantly check your immi account?

You get an email and also in Immiaccount under messages (correspondense)

Went for the test on 21st December in Melbourne, and citizenship was approved today! 😀

Now waiting on ceremony details.

Fanstastic news - congratulations! When did you apply?

We applied back in April 2020 in Melbourne. Not expecting to hear too soon, but be good to know what your timeline is.

I actually applied in March 2019 so my timeline isn’t very helpful as a reference point. I had to postpone a couple of test dates then COVID happened. It’s been a long wait.
