Haskew’s Law

Has anyone used this agent for migration?

You can easily check their details on the MARA website. It appears they have a couple of Agents associated with them as "Consultants".

On the website it says they are MARA registered. Should it display a reference number?

According to Part 2.2 of the Migration Agent Code of conduct, Yes:

"Note: Advertising includes advertising on the Internet. 2.11 A registered migration agent must, when advertising: (a) include in the advertisement the words “Migration Agents Registration Number” or “MARN”, followed by the agent’s individual registration number;"

Yes it should, and if the agents are only consultants then that's not good enough.   I would stick with someone like Raul who just replied.

To be totally correct, it's good enough, it's just not the best you could get. I imagine the costs are similar so why put a middle-man in the way (as that's what Haskews would be here)

I had a look at their website, there is one Mara registered agent working there. The rest are what look to be legal professionals of various specialties. Of what calibre, I don’t know. I’d be wary, migration law is a whole different ball field. It’s why it frustrates me when I see so many people on this forum using lawyers instead of migration agents.

As others have said I’d stick with someone    reputable; many people on here can vouch for the likes of Raul, Paul and Wrussel.

To find Haskew's Law on the MARA Govt website, type their name in and you will see their details.

Specialising in Residency-by-Investment solutions for Australia, USA, Canada, Cyprus, Ireland, Panama and many more jurisdictions. They are not a MARA agent who deals with Working Holidaymakers, students, skilled visas. Australia is not their only focus and area of expertise. However, all work undertaken regardless of the country is regulated within the relevant jurisdiction by highly qualified members of our team.

I am sure Raul, Paul and Wrussel are excellent Australian migration agents and Haskew Law are certainly not looking to detract from their marketing efforts on this site.

I would simply request the record reflects the facts.

Kindest Regards

Hi Alex, it’s been a long while since you have posted on the forum. It may be wise to refresh yourself with forum rules and create yourself a signature letting people know exactly who you are.  Also with being away for so long you probably missed all the free advice and help that @wrussell @Raul Senise have given to our members over the last 10+ years, so I wouldn’t say they have made any marketing efforts in fact quite the opposite, they have probably lost clients through giving away too much helpful information free.
‘I am sure being the wonderful gentlemen  that they are they won’t find your comments offensive with the slur on their reasons for being on the forum. However, I do find it offensive and I don’t appreciate another migration agency coming along having digs at my long term valuable members.
‘Kindest Regards

I'm not convinced the post was offensive merely factual and defensive. The thread had suggested that Haskew's were not qualified, he merely righted that wrong assumption.

I guess he could have been more friendly in his wording but it was a long way from being offensive (in my view).

I get all the work I need, more than I can manage, from referrals and pass on the easy ones to colleagues. I have not kept records, but I could probably count on one hand the number of forum members who have retained my services for more than an assessment .

I find this forum and others good sources of Continuing Professional Development both from the posts of DIY applicants and the comments of other RMAs and I reckon it is fair enough to offer useful advice now and then and my  free preliminary assessments have saved numerous prospective applicants who had been misled from wasting their time and money.  Sometimes I pick the brains of other agents. Anyone who thinks s/he knows all about this business is deluded.

If you review all the MARA/OMARA sanctions, as I have done, you might find the percentage of layers sanctioned  cf. the percentage of lawyers listed interesting. I would hesitate to claim that they cannot keep even themselves out of trouble, but not for long. There are some notable exceptions, one in particular who publishes a free migration newsletter.

Attributing your motives to others is a characteristic of ‘marketeers’. I am constantly bombarded by emails from marketeers offering to improve my Instagram rating, whatever that is. I consulted my grandchildren and found out. Similarly for idiotbook and page rankings.

I think your question was answered above. I will close the thread but don’t let it deter you from asking further questions.
