I was granted a TSS 482 visa on 8th November 2018 for 2 years however it did not work out with my employer. On September 4th 2019 I left Australia to return home to England. I have a return flight booked for January 14th 2020 and I plan on returning to Australia on a tourist visa and then applying for a partner visa with my girlfriend. As far as I am aware, my 482 visa is still in effect, I have printed out form 1194 as I believe that I will need to have my current visa cancelled ASAP, and it may cause problems for when I return in January. VERYSTORMY Posted September 24, 2019 Share Posted September 24, 2019 While Vevo is useful, don't really on it 100%. My status on Vevo was showing I was on a 457 two years after I had gained PR. I left Australia over 2 months ago and am hoping to return in January on a tourist visa. Would applying for a tourist visa be problematic if my current visa is still in effect? Thanks! No it shouldn't be a problem, although given you had a visa already, you might face questioning from Immigration if they suspect you are using the tourist visa as a way to enter the country and overstay. Thanks Marisa, I have heard that if I enter with proof to show that I intend to apply for the Partner Visa (subclass 820 and 801)visa then that will help. I intend to enter Australia on the eVisitor (subclass 651) and apply for the Partner Visa (subclass 820 and 801) as soon as possible. Do you know when I will be able to work in Australia? Is it true that I must wait for 3 months to end (the 3 months given to me by the 651 visa) before I am given the bridging visa preceding the Partner Visa? And on this bridging visa I am able to work? I already have my flight booked to Australia for January and it would be a lot faster for us that way, Applying offshore would take (I believe) 4 - 7 Months. Thanks! If you apply for a partner visa onshore you are granted a bridging visa. This comes into force once the visitor visa you arrived on expires after three months. I have another question.. Will my medicare have expired? My current card is active until 19/09/20 but obviously my current TSS visa has ended. What would I need to do for a 651 eVisitor visa? Thanks!
