Fruit picking vs tree planting

Recommended Posts

Hi I’m about to start my W&H visa.

I plan on landing on either Cairns or Darwin, where I will start my extension job right Any recomendations?

I’m considering either working on fruit picking or planting trees and I wanted some comments from people with experience or knowledge about these.

ive heard that tree planting is harder than fruit picking but also better payed, but I was wondering whether it’s worth it.

thanks in advance

Tree planting is a physically exhausting job which requires endurance and stamina over a long and exhausting day. Make sure you are a fit and ready for the job especially if payment is by piece work.   Fruit picking is also hard work especially in the heat and humidity.  I've done both MANY years ago. I still do tree planting but as a volunteer and it's not so bad in Tasmania's cooler climate.

Hello

Well both are hard work

Cairns probably has more choices for jobs.

Why don't you try both and see which ones suits you best?
