go overseas (and will be staying overseas for 2 years) before citizenship by conferral decision

Hi All,

My application for citizenship by conferral in Australia was submitted around Jun 2018, and I passed the citizenship test and interview on 31st May 2019. The status of the application now is "received" at this point of time, which means I'm waiting for decision.

My situation is I will be leaving Australia later this month (around 20th Sept 2019) to fulfil an overseas employment which will last at least 2 years.

Could anyone advise how department of immigration is going to deal with my case and what I should do to get an approval even if I am overseas?

Any help will be appreciated.

They can’t approve if you are overseas.  Try calling and explaining.....you never know.  Even if they do approve you still need to attend a ceremony though.

I assume you have an RRV in place?

My travel facility has not yet expired but anyway I'll be eligible for a RRV since I have already spent 2 full years in Australia in the last past 5 years. Attending a ceremony will be easy if I understand it correctly since I just need to come back to Australia on a scheduled date. If calling and explaining would work, when should I make the call and what should I say to them?
