Matlissa
Hi All, This is my first post ever so sorry if this topic has already been discussed. My wife has a UK passport in her maiden name and last year she applied and was granted a resident return visa. This was originally granted in her maiden name but has since been changed to her married name. We believe this was done automatically by the Department of Immigration when she provided her marriage certificate as part of her citizenship application. We are going on and overseas holiday next month and my question is will she have any troubles getting back into Australia with a visa in her married name and a passport in her maiden name? Quite possibly yes. They should both be in the same name, and that na,me should alos be the one on her flight ticket. If they are different she may even have trouble boarding the flight, let alone entering Australia.
shaundennis
No you wont have any issues. My wife has the same - married name on visa and maiden name on passport. Never had any issues. The visa is linked to the passport and comes up automatically. Don't stress. The airline ticket should match the passport not the visa.
Marisawright
I was going to say the same thing. The important thing is that the name on the passport must match the name on the ticket. Otherwise all OK
