It's now some 8 years since we received our permanent residency, and have since become Aussie citizens, but those following this route may be interested in this news story...

Seems like a step in the right direction but probably still falls short.  I noticed in the article they spoke of conditions with a reasonably predictive course and whilst increasing the threshold to $49,00 and 10 years (instead of looking at the lifetime), they used to include DSP payments in the original calculations but that this isn't now included in as you can't claim for 10 years.

Hope it has a positive impact for some people
