489 Visa - Visting Other Places?

Recommended Posts

I am living and working in South Australia on a 489 visa. I intend to apply for an 887 visa at a later date.

I plan to visit other places both within different states of Australia and oversees. This will also include cities that are not designated regional areas. These are just holidays / breaks and I will be remaining a resident and working in SA.

Is there a limit of how long I can be out of the state or designated regional area please?

It's just an assumption, but I doubt Immigration will consider you to be a prisoner of the state/regional area so that holidays to other locations are not an issue as long as your residence and work location continues to be in a designated regional area.

The question would be if you have to subtract these holidays from your residency time to qualify for the 887. Would think you would have to.
