I've applied end of June for Sponsorship 870 and I was asked for more info on the 14th of Aug (AFP certificate and receipt of my tax payment). Submitted everything in 2 weeks and still waiting (so about 12 weeks since I applied). Could you please let me know what documents you attached for the second stage of visa 870? (except for IDs and police clearance) and which insurance company and what type of insurance you picked? I'm pregnant at the moment and I'd like to have my parents here with me before my due date All the best, Sara

I'd suggest calling the AOS line at this stage as you've not heard anything for a month since your last com from them. The only additional documents I was requested to provide during the process was evidence of my relationship with my son - I provide a copy of his birth certificate and then later on evidence of Health Insurance. I found a lot of the HI Companies didn't know what I was talking about when I requested it be condition 8501 compliant, but I think you'll find the larger ones do. I went with BUPA in the end $150 a month for standard cover. They immediately provide you with a letter of evidence (quoting compliance to 8501) so that you can upload to your IMMI application. One day after their receipt of that I was granted my visa. The number my son used to call the AOS agents when there was a delay was 1800571922. Once he knew what they needed, he was able to provide the info and following receipt of that he was granted approval. Congratulations on your pregnancy and wish the best of luck in getting your mum n dad over in time for them to be of use to you!! Cheers, Sue CPV 143 Acknowledged 3rd November 2016, Visitor Visa 600 (Tourist) Acknowledged 11th May 2017, Sponsorship submitted for 870 21st May Approved 29th July, Police checks submitted 6th August, Medical completed, 2nd VAC and Health Insurance evidence requested 16th Sept. 870 Visa granted 19/09/19! Sponsorship maybe? I really thought it was one and the same thing! I know we're all dabbling in the art and you're a master Happy to be corrected Changing the subject, I'm pretty sure I will be in touch at some point over Aus vs UK tax rules/laws re pensions. Discussed some time ago. Alan Collett 3,249 Posted September 22, 2019 Yes, sponsorship of an 870 visa is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Home Affairs, not Centrelink (which oversees the AoS process with permanent parent visa applications). Looking forward to hearing from you re tax issues - feel able to telephone or to ping a private message to me. Best regards. Alan Collett 3,249 Posted September 26, 2019 No, that's not what you asked - respectfully. The legislative requirement is to demonstrate the sponsor has at least the minimum level of taxable income for the most recently completed tax year. Whether you have proved this - we can't say. However he was not willing to open my file first. But he accepted to do so when I explained my situation and asked him to check out if they have received the information that the officer required. Actually agents on the phone couldn't be very helpful as they have a very limited access to files. All the best

Can they still submit both applications using one immi account? Or both of them need separate immi accounts as well. Sorry if it’s too much detail to ask on forums.
