I studied at Uni of Melbourne for my first year, but I realized I need PR to survive in Oz and to get CPA opportunities, so I transferred to UTS. I didn`t know about AS can be a potential problem to get PR, since I found out it can be problems, I`m having really hard time. I donno what to do.. Mine is really early stage, discovered it 2 years ago and just taking oral medicine (NSAIDs) Some people say it is hard with AS cuz it could potentially cost a lot of money to treat, and others it is fine with early stage. George Lombard or Peter Bollard are the two usually mentioned in this regard. If you can't get PR then you take your newly acquired skills home. If you apply for PR, Immigration will look at the "lifetime cost" of your condition. That is, how much the government will need to subsidise the cost of your medicines and treatment over your lifetime. There is a threshold, which I think is $40,000 - if your costs are likely to go above that, then you will not get PR. $40,000 is not a high threshold when you consider how many years you are likely to live, so I think you are right to be concerned. As Quoll says, you need to talk to one of the agents who specialise in medical conditions and they will be able to give you an honest assessment of your chances. From my view - i never had any problems but was only on NSAID's at the time - good advice above, get an informed view from an agent .
