Dorsetknob Posted May 30, 2019 Share Posted May 30, 2019 Can anyone explain the conundrum of concession cards for retirees we are a retired couple, both 68 years old having lived in Australia for 10 years, returning back to the UK in 2011 and now because our 2 sons are living in Oz and settled for the past 10 years we feel we want to return to Australia WA is our preferred state and we should like to know what concessions(if any) we will be entitled to we are both Australian citizens . In particular we are interested in health and medication entitlements and travel and other entitlement we have looked online at relevant sites but very difficult to understand. We would seem to qualify for an Australian Commonwealth Seniors Health Card as our joint income would fall below the $87k threshold . Any advice or information on other cards would be appreciated. Thank you Obviously you'll be eligible for Medicare. You should apply for a Seniors Card. Once you've got that, you can get cheap travel on public transport. When you arrive, ring up Centrelink and ask for an appointment with a "Financial Information Services Officer".
