Has anyone seen Sound of Freedom? Not sure if it's out here in the UK yet. Might be in Australia?

I also want to watch the new India Jones movie.

One of my UK friends went to see it yesterday - said your need to leave you brain at the door! 😂

I don't know about the UK, but it doesn't even have a release date in Australia yet. However, considering that it's been far more successful at the box office in the US than anticipated I expect it to get one soon.

It’s on at the Kawana cinema on the Sunshine Coast

Just watched The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar. Brilliant stuff, as good as the book.

Followed with the Swan, also as disturbing as the story was.

I'd love to see what Wes Anderson would do with the Fingersmith.

Just watched reptile on Netflix. Basically a who dun it. It's very good, a bit long and you need to concentrate on you will lose the plot.  Some good characters. Alicia Silverstone is looking a bit mumsey.

A second vote for Henry Sugar here - thoroughly entertaining.

Last night we watched 'Accused' on Netflix (not the series, the 2023 movie), which was superb and had us on the edge of our seats. Very unnerving and thought provoking - the wife and I were both checking our privacy settings on social media when it had finished!

I gave it 15mins and switched it off.  It's a kids movie.

Then the Mrs came in and after another 15mins trying to find something we both might like we ended up watching "super intelligence" that's an hour and 45 minutes of my life I won't get back.

That's a tad dismissive but I think I understand.

All the nice, well-educated, decent people are Asian, and all the horrible, ignorant people are racist white thugs. That didn't rest easy with me either because vilifying white folks for the purpose of popular entertainment is really getting old. However, when you put that aside it's a very engaging and thought-provoking film. It could've easily been about a man wrongly accused of being a paedophile or a murderer, and it wouldn't have mattered in the slightest what colour his skin was.

I also got pressed-ganged into watching Super Intelligence - I just left my modest intelligence at the door.

From what i did watch, i thought the depiction of the hospital and the doctors were testiment to the good that the British Empire brought to these 3rd world countries.

I found the subliminal messages within super Intelegence about as subtal as a brick and If I was watching on my own would have turned that off too.

I did watch No Place for Old Men last week and thought that was excellent.

I saw it years ago, but recall it being a good movie. The thing that sticks in my mind was the villain's weird modus operandi, which I don't think would've been very practical in reality!

I've enjoyed a lot of great movies recently from the late 90s and noughties that I'd missed the first time around. The last of a golden age of movies not to have been ruined by some PC box-ticking agenda.

I heard a radio advert for it the other day - what does Keanu Reeves have to do with it?

He's the presenter/interviewer (and probably Executive Producer too). He's a big Formula 1 fan and I think had a lot of involvement in getting the show made.
