Kea
Hi, we’re currently looking at the skilled visa . My husband is a plumber /heating engineer and has around 15 years experience..... we read that his qualifications may not be valid if he didn’t obtain them through an official apprenticeship? He did city and guilds level 2 in plumbing at college, and then worked in the industry since. He has been gas safe registered for around 7 years. Do you know if it’s worth trying to do a refrigeration/air con course over here too ?? We have contacted the Visa beureau as a starting point to see if we are eligible to apply, based on his current qualifications. They have confirmed that we would be eligible and have now asked for £60 for a 30 minute consultation.... We are just a little clueless as to whether it’s worth going through an agent or going straight to Australian government site?? Hearing conflicting views ..... wrussell
May I suggest that you consult one of the registered migration agents who posts on this forum?

Many of the agents who post on here will offer a free no obligation consultation. Suggest you reach out to them for a comparison estimate. Amy d
Hi. My husband did the same nvq course and went straight to being a self employed plumber and heating engineer. About 11 years experience and it was absolutely fine to pass skills assessment and we are now just waiting for our visa. Down under centre were amazing and highly recommend using them especially for tradies.
