Ahhhhh

History of inpatient mental health

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I applied for the partner visa over a month ago and I am currently on the bridging visa. I have recently been requested to do my medical examination which I know as I have declared mental health conditions they will then refer me to a psychiatrist.

Can anyone tell me if they have had a history of *severe* mental health where they have been hosptalised for it?

I am scared that as I have been hospitalised while on my WHV they will not accept my partner visa.

I work full time and I am privately seeking psychiatric help and seeing a psychologist as well. I am stable but I recently had a slight hiccup which I am scared will mess up my chances.

Advice?

When a visa has a health complication I always recommend seeking some specialist advice. George Lombard is a migration agent that specialises in this.

Hey, Welcome to the forum.  My suggestion would be to get your psychiatrist and psychologist to write a letter for you.  Whilst my issue was physical, I was told that the Dr should write:

What the illness is and duration, what treatment/investigations you've had or are having, and the prognosis over the next 5 years.  By providing information at the medical it may save them asking you to go and see a psychiatrist.

I just want PIO to be a happy place where people are nice to each other and unicorns poop rainbows
