Moving to Lyndhurst Victoria

Recommended Posts

Hello. We are moving from Canada to Melbourne in  few months with a 7 and 12 year old. How would you guys rate Lyndhurst area especially in terms of schools. We would prefer Govt. schools initially so any suggestions would be welcome. thanks

I'm fairly new to Melbourne, but I do know that anywhere around Dandenong is viewed as an undesirable area to live.

Is there a reason you've chosen Lyndhurst?

Lyndhurst is out on that Casey growth corridor. Used to be semi rural now a giant housing estate and growing. At least it was the last time I was there, middle of last year.

Roads struggle with the weight of traffic from all the new housing. Wouldn’t be my first choice but I know people who live there and I think it is family friendly.

Sorry no idea on schools.

Lyndhurst can be a bit on the rough side- maybe look at Berwick? Not to say there aren't some nice areas but you do hear some negative things.
