How is applying the law a witch hunt?

I don’t know, ask Donald Trump that question?

If he was honest on his visa application then he has nothing to worry about.  Witch hunt or not, it should cause him no concern or worry,  unless he was dishonest when signing what is a legal declaration.  Same as for anyone, if you’re going to lie you have to be good at it and not drop yourself in it.  I remember a friend of mines mum used to say to her when caught out on something….be sure your sins will find you out.  I doubt they will revoke his visa regardless but it will show him in very poor character if true.

Does it ask if you’ve ever used illegal drugs on a visa application? I can’t recall that when we came to Australia

It's a long time since I had my green card for the USA but yes, I was asked about drug taking, had I been in a psychiatric hospital and was I a communist.  Had a bit of a laugh at the last one but I knew a Welsh couple way back in the late 60's who were card carrying communists and they were turned back at the airport in New York.

That was a long time ago so rules may have changed.

For clarity. They do ask if you have taken drugs.

If you answer yes it doesn't mean you will be banned. They will ask some followup questions and if it is all historical stuff they are likely to let you in still. Didn't this happen to Nigella Lawson?

Lying about it is probably seen as a worse offence if caught than historical youthful indiscretions.

Yes, she was banned from boarding a flight to L.A. from London because she had mentioned cocaine in a court trial.   She was later invited to apply again for a U.S. visa so they obviously had second thoughts.

No, if he'd written about dabbling in witchcraft in his book then (outside of the bible belt) he'd be in a lot less trouble.

Yep but what are the motivations of the group trying to uncover this info? Is it in the public interest per se? I don’t know! Crazy stuff

Not to sure that Australia rules. We have less freedom in Australia if going by the Constitution that Americans hold so dearly. Both country's have own issues .

Regardless of their motivations , the ability to seek out on an individual basis just what is on record is highly important desirable if not essential. It is the basis of a so called 'free' society to know what government organisations for example have on file on one.

It's not too surprising that Spotify gave Meghan the heave-ho as she simply wasn't producing anything interesting on her podcasts.  All that money (if she was actually paid) for not doing very much work at all and if she hadn't married Harry nobody would have had the slightest interest in listening to them.  In fact Spotify would never have heard of her.

Apparently Spotify's highest paid contributor produces more every month (and sometimes in a week) than Megan did in her entire contract.

To be fair, some people would have watched Suits even if Harry hadn't made her famous.

I watched a couple of episodes of Suits when it first started, but I had no idea Megan was in it until the engagement was announced. I recall there being some minor controversy over her sex scenes in the show, and whether the Queen approved or not. It harked right back to the days of Prince Andrew and Koo Stark, who'd starred in an adult movie - pretty soft by today's standards, but it was scandalous enough back then to result in her being given the old heave-ho. Rather a shame as Andy was smitten with her by all accounts, and she might have been a better match than Fergie. It's sad to think just how many lives and loves have been ruined by royal protocol over the years.

Revive the bloodline? Wouldn't the bloodline need to have died out for that to happen? With not only the 9th Earl Spencer (Diana's brother) around but also his distant cousin Charles James Spencer-Churchill the 12th Duke of Marlborough, I don't see that aristocratic family dying out. Unless of course Harry & Meghan make them shrivel away from sheer embarrassment.

Diana's brother has 7 children including Louis Spencer who is heir to  the earldom of his father.

Sounds like a furphy to me. I hadn't heard of this before.

I doubt the pakistani press knows something nobody else does @Toots

I think the whole daft idea is to honour his mother Diana so in that way Harry's children would continue Diana's bloodline so to speak and use the name Spencer.

He reckons (as he says in his book) "Meghan has the same compassion as my Mum.  She has the same empathy.  She has the same confidence.  She has the same warmth about her.  So much of what Meghan is and how she is, is similar to my Mum."

He also stated that his children are not like the Windsors in that Archie is very like Meghan and Lilibet is a Spencer.

If she is so compassionate why has she cut off all contact with her father? He has never been allowed to meet his grandchildren.
