Hi Guys,

Just in case anyone is patiently or inpatiently waiting a AHPRA thought would give time scale.

23 July 2018 case opened AHPRA

8  January 2919  I got my notice of principle registration.

I have 90 days to present at any AHPRA office with proofs of ID to finalise registration.

Hope this helps 😍

Yeah, waiting times have increased lately... rumour has it its due to a change in location for initial registrations (from overseas) all being done in Perth now (you still present in your state of choice)

My application was lodged in August and reg in principle received december after a lot of pushing from me and my employer... AHPRA had requested an extension till February

Which profession were you registering for.

if you have your documents signed and verified do you still have to prtesent documents.

We are moving in October and my wife is a mental health nurse from uk

Yes you still have to present - registration isn't completed until you have presented ID in person.

So probably best to get on with reg now if its taking 6 months and we should be there before the 90 days is up, can that 90 days be extended to fit in with arrival date?

Thanks in advance  for any help given

No, they won't extend it to fit in with your arrival date.  I would be applying for AHPRA now, you may find it takes a few weeks to get everything together.  Has your wife completed her skills assessment yet?

she has a sponsored medium term skills shortage visa. so i think she just needs to send off proof of course etc

She's luck to get sponsorship without her registration and for them to hold the job.  I'd be applying for registration now so that it doesn't delay her commencing work.

Hi guys,

Waves to SWMOY,

Great to hear you also got agreement in principle.

I have booked a BA cheap sale flight for £627 (return not one way) so I can present in person at AHPRA to fully register in person.  I am going for just one week.

Anyone managed to get a job in the Melbourne area recently ?

Was just wondering what starting salary to expect for Ward staff  RMN and what enhancements are paid ie, unsociable hours, forensic enhancements.

Many thanks in Advance,

Your salary depends on how many years you have been qualified as a nurse. Nights and weekends work out roughly time and a half, Sunday’s and public holidays closer to double time. If you don’t work the public holiday you get paid a day in lieu, which after five years here I still can’t get over [emoji23]

hi

I'm a medic - submitted my APHRA for a limited registration as oversea-train specialist (OTS), two weeks ago. Have done my assessment with RCPA (report 1).

Anyone has any experience on how long does it take for the process to get through? (coming to Sydney under TSS-482 Medium Term AON) - visa is also pending

Thank you

p.s. provisionally to start the job on 3rd of June

Band 5 nurse is RN2

Band 6 is RN3

Band 7 is RN5

the "pay point" is the yearly increment... same as NHS increments... all experience once proved is recognised... so If you have 3 years band 5 experience, you get paid as RN2.3

nurses-award-ma000034-pay-guide.pdf

Thanks for that, not seen that payguide before and good for budgeting x

Just been speaking to my colleagues who started after me...

6 months is the more realistic time frame... expect them to make excuses and blame you for whatever has caused delays..

-I was told I had sent an unsigned and undated CV

-colleague 1 was told tgey were lacking a police check...wasnt true... they git a refund after they re-did the check uneccesarily

-colleague 2 told they had mispelled something on a form... no specifics... had to redo AGOS form

And we are all uk nurses who arrived after the change from AHPRA Melbourne office to Perth office for overseas applicants.
