SWMOY04
Yeah, waiting times have increased lately... rumour has it its due to a change in location for initial registrations (from overseas) all being done in Perth now (you still present in your state of choice) My application was lodged in August and reg in principle received december after a lot of pushing from me and my employer... AHPRA had requested an extension till February Edited January 13, 2019 by SWMOY04

russelld
So probably best to get on with reg now if its taking 6 months and we should be there before the 90 days is up, can that 90 days be extended to fit in with arrival date? Thanks in advance for any help given

Thanks in advance for any help given No, they won't extend it to fit in with your arrival date. I would be applying for AHPRA now, you may find it takes a few weeks to get everything together. Has your wife completed her skills assessment yet?
russelld
she has a sponsored medium term skills shortage visa. so i think she just needs to send off proof of course etc

I'd be applying for registration now so that it doesn't delay her commencing work.

Sunshine80
Hi guys, Waves to SWMOY, Great to hear you also got agreement in principle. I have booked a BA cheap sale flight for £627 (return not one way) so I can present in person at AHPRA to fully register in person. I am going for just one week. Anyone managed to get a job in the Melbourne area recently ? Was just wondering what starting salary to expect for Ward staff RMN and what enhancements are paid ie, unsociable hours, forensic enhancements. Many thanks in Advance,
Ballaratburd
Your salary depends on how many years you have been qualified as a nurse. Nights and weekends work out roughly time and a half, Sunday’s and public holidays closer to double time. If you don’t work the public holiday you get paid a day in lieu, which after five years here I still can’t get over [emoji23]

LonMas
hi I'm a medic - submitted my APHRA for a limited registration as oversea-train specialist (OTS), two weeks ago. Have done my assessment with RCPA (report 1). Anyone has any experience on how long does it take for the process to get through? (coming to Sydney under TSS-482 Medium Term AON) - visa is also pending Thank you p.s. provisionally to start the job on 3rd of June

SWMOY04
Band 5 nurse is RN2 Band 6 is RN3 Band 7 is RN5 the "pay point" is the yearly increment... same as NHS increments... all experience once proved is recognised... so If you have 3 years band 5 experience, you get paid as RN2.3 nurses-award-ma000034-pay-guide.pdf
