Hi Guys,

I am in Queensland, Australia. My employer sent me on Work Permit - 457 under the job title "ICT Manager - nec (135199)". I did not have any plans for Permanent Residency at that time and I happily accepted the offer without caring much about the job code. I have been living here for last 1 year and 6 months and doing system administrators job.

As days passed, I started liking this place and decided to apply for PR. Because my roles and responsibilities are related to Remote Infrastructure Management(Servers/Networks/Switches), I got the ACS evaluation done under "System Administrator - 262113" and the outcome was positive. Furthermore, I scored the highest band in PTE-A.

Now one of my close friend is saying that I can not apply under "System Administrator - 262113" role as I am already in Australia with a different Job code and I must apply PR under the job code "ICT_Manager_nec.

PS: Though I have a job title of "ICT_Manager_nec", my primary roles and responsibilities are related to System administration.

Please advise, How can i proceed with System Administrator's role? Also, I don't want to lose the Onsite experience as its contributing 5 points to my overall score.

Thanks in advance.

I would strongly recommend you take professional advice from a good migration agent as by working in a role that isn't what you were nominated for is pretty serious. In the eyes of the department, that may be visa fraud which could see your current visa cancelled and banned from future visas
