Guest dougie32
Hi Hoping to be in Perth next July. Just wondering the best way to get into teaching out there. After any advice from anyone in the education sector. I have had my degree given the o.k. I have been looking on the web and I can hardly find any teaching jobs maybe I am not looking in the right places. Do they have many supply agencies out there? I know the pay is a lot less than here! would like to work part time with full time wages and with childcare thrown in (dreaming!) cheers for reading joe x:spinny::mask:
laurainlondon
Hi, to teach in WA (gvmt and private)you have to register with WACOT( West Australian College of Teachers). Then you can register and apply to work for the Department for education(state schools) or apply to private/fee paying schools directly. Schools tend to have a 'pool' of their own supply teachers and I never came across any schools that used agencies. I would look on the Department web site for state vacancies or in the West Australian newspaper(online?) for private. Due to recent stike action salaries now start form around AU$50 000-same as UK. Good luck
