189 Skill Assessment for Auditor

Recommended Posts

Hi, i’m a recent graduate in Accounting from one of the Go8 universities and will be returning home to work as an Auditor in early January. My plan is to come back here again say after 4 years. In terms of claiming points for my work experience, will CPA or CAANZ consider my work experience right after graduation or after i finish my CA program? What does “post qualification” mean? is it after my degree or after my accounting professional qualification?

i know a lot of things can change in 5 years, just want to check if my goal is indeed realistic.

Thanks!

For graduate accountants, the skills assessing bodies do not assess work experience.

You might be well advised to consult a registered migration agent for advice about your possible visa strategies.

So does that mean i can’t claim points for my work experience overseas? I’m aiming for the 5 points.

You may claim points for relevant post-qualification work experience, if there is enough of it.

Work experience points are assessed at the EoI/visa invitation stage and  not as part of a  a pre-migration skills assessment.

Opinions about work experience offered by skills assessing authorities are only advisory and DoHA is not bound by them.
