Point Cook, Altona Meadows

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

First post so go easy on us :)

My wife, little girl and I are currently waiting on news of whether I have been successful in obtaining a job in Port Melbourne.

In anticipation we've been doing a lot of research on suitable and affordable suburbs.

We have been looking down the west suburbs (in the title), and wondered what people's thoughts were of this area? I hear things about crime (And snakes! Of the animal and human kind!), but the positives seem to outweigh the negatives.

Anybody live that way who can sell it to us? :)

Williamstown, Altona, Newport and Point Cook are the main areas with a decent size english population. Generally the bayside suburbs have a larger British community. Crime is definitely a big factor to consider in the western suburbs.
