As a result, Home Affairs gave me a 3 year ban from entering Australia. Now, my ban period is over. I would consult with a migration agent and secure professional advice. You wouldn't want to bungle an application and stitch yourself up. In theory, there's nothing to stop you applying but equally Immi could refuse it - but an agent can help you navigate through the complexities.
