I have my trusted GP who I always go to, charges $75 and worth every penny but 4 GP clinics have opened in the last year within a couple of KM’s from home, all bulk bill, have used a couple of them for weekend ‘emergencies’ for various family members and have to say all we’re absolutely superb, would have happily paid for the service/treatment we received.

Where do you find a good Doctor in Australia? Especially in Regional  Queensland .All our doctors are part time  doctors from 3rd world countries that are at the surgery 2-3 days   a week and  go to training the other 3 days. To get  a appointment  it  takes up to 2-3 weeks. The hospital in our town is useless. No permanent doctor ,understaffed and not even a Xray Machine. News last Week All regional Hospitals in Regional Australia are 3rd world.THey need modernising, and trained staff to run them. and a huge injection of funding.  How the LNP  government is planning to send all new immigrants to Regional Australia to work  in Regional Australia because  the Big cities are bursting at the seems beggars belief. There no services. Then this absolute shocking report ,From the Royal Commision inquiry  into the  mistreatment and absolute cruelty to the Elderly in Care homes. In Australia,  Can't see much happening on that front, with this LNP Government. It will be the same as the banks. That are still ripping us off. .And the Shocking  news about more cruelty to animals.Retired Race horses this time.

Wow, i have  found the opposite, yes my GP is a Pakistani man but UK trained and cannot do enough. He is awesome. You can nearly always get an appointment the same day, if not the day after. My specialist at the public hospital is a UK guy from London.

Ive used the public system for hospitals, Seen specialists, had scans, x rays ,biopsys, bloods all on Medicare and prompt appointments with great service. I also find lots of the nurses are from Ireland or the UK. Monday my DD is off for a 24 hr heart moniter and ECG, she had x rays and bloods last wednesdsay all from a GP referral on the Monday, not bad at all for a weeks notice ..

Oh and all based in a regional postcode area so IMO just goes to show how very different one experience to another can be,, presuming you have written from experience Zack and not just from whats youve read , heard or think you saw somewhere. I would give the medical care i have recieved here 9 out of 10 which to be fair is not much different than what i would rate the care i received 13 + years ago with the NHS.

Once again Zac you are talking about where you live.  I have a dicky heart and have had fantastic care from a cardiac doctor in Launceston.  If I need to see my GP  I ring first thing in the morning and I can see her the same day or at a push the next day.  My doctor is English (Indian background but speaks with a Yorkshire accent) and takes her time with each appointment.  As far as the care homes are concerned I agree that some of them should be well and truly looked into properly.  Some of the staff couldn't care less.  I live 10 minutes walk from a care home and it seems to be very well run.  I volunteer there.  The staff are all locals so  know many of the residents personally.

Don't get me started on cruelty to animals.  Makes my blood boil.  Same with banks    ...............  greedy b@st@rds all of them.
