Merlin
Hiya, I was granted a PR visa 4 years ago. The visa lasts for 5 years but I have been out of Australia for nearly 4 years. Does anyone know whether my visa is still valid for me to return before the full 5 years is up? Thanks
Amber Snowball
Think so. The travel portion usually lasts 5 years.

Amber Snowball
I’m always nervous about answering these visa questions as there are so many different visas with different conditions attached to each and I worry that I have it wrong! Which visa do you have?
rammygirl
There will be a “must enter no later than “ date on the visa grant notice. This should be 5 years since the grant of the visa. If you return before that date you are OK. After this date you will need a Resident Return Visa (RRV) or Citizenship to return to Australia if you leave. RRV info can be found here. https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/visa-1/155-

MaggieMay24
Your visa grant will state the last day you have to enter Australia. You can also find out your visa status on VEVO: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/busi/visas-and-migration/visa-entitlement-verification-online-(vevo)
